Cashiers process sales and payments, handle cash and card reconciliation and manage their own float through a shift. CSEC passes including mathematics are the usual requirement, with employer training on the point of sale system. Supermarkets, pharmacies, fuel stations, fast food chains and department stores hire at volume, and the role often runs on rosters including evenings and weekends.
