Housekeepers service guest rooms and public areas to a set standard within a set time, and in resorts work to room counts that rise sharply in the winter season. Formal qualifications are rarely required; HEART/NSTA Trust housekeeping certification is recognised and helps with progression to supervisor. The all-inclusive resorts are the largest employers in the region, with hotels, villas, hospitals and facilities contractors also hiring.
