Internal auditors test their own organisation's controls, processes and compliance from the inside and report findings to an audit committee rather than to the department being examined. ACCA or CPA qualification is common and CIA certification is the specialist credential employers name. Banks, insurers, utilities, statutory bodies and the larger conglomerates all maintain internal audit functions.
