Pharmacists dispense and check prescriptions, counsel patients on how to take them, and manage controlled drug records and stock. A pharmacy degree from UTech or an accredited school is required, followed by internship and registration with the national pharmacy council. Retail and hospital pharmacies are the main employers, along with pharmaceutical distributors, the public health service and the regulatory bodies.
