Sales associates serve customers on the floor, handle stock and displays, and work to individual or store sales targets. CSEC passes are the common requirement and most training is on the job, which makes it a frequent first formal job in the region. Supermarket, pharmacy, furniture, appliance and clothing chains are the main employers, along with duty free and in-bond retail in the tourist areas.
