Tour guides lead visitors through attractions, historic sites and excursions, handling the commentary, the timing and the safety of the group. In Jamaica guiding at licensed attractions requires training and licensing through the Tourist Board and JAGGA-recognised programmes, and language skills command a premium. Attraction operators, destination management companies, cruise shore excursion contractors and resorts are the employers.
